Welcome to KANcycling's first "real-time tour!" This tour is being conducted in conjunction with an upcoming NHK documentary. For the next eight days, you'll follow along with us as we explore the western coast of Japan's northernmost island, traveling all the way from the airport at Chitose to Sapporo, Hokkaido's largest and liveliest, beer-loving city, and then ever northward along the coast up to wintry Wakkanai... Cape Soya, Japan's northernmost point... and the isolated islands of Rebun and Risshiri which reportedly offer spectacular scenery. For the first time, we won't be telling you anything we haven't just found out that very day. So come along - we think you'll enjoy the ride.
