On my most recent trip, as I mentioned earlier, I left the week before the first half of Golden Week and was too early; the blossoms had popped on the coast but not in the mountains. On the previous year, though, I’d nailed it -- and this is the kind of view you get in that case. On this early morning, this particular hillside was filled with people with much, much better cameras than mine trying to do justice to the view.

As you saw earlier, the cherry and plum blossoms are not the only floral attractions at this time of year. This was one of my better flower-and-snow shots from the most recent visit. Note the tiny graveyard with headstones at mid-photo.
