A diet of nothing but beer and ramen will do funny things to your head (and other organs, but let’s not get into that). I snapped this photo at night from the inside of another ramen shop on a busy main street. It reminds me of the way I felt on a summer night in Sapporo - often almost in a dream-like haze.

Near Sapporo Station, a young lady poses for my photo (actually, I think she’s dusting the ashes from her cigarette) while waiting for the light to change. Undoubtedly there is a very limited time window for this type of summer attire in Hokkaido. The restaurant in the background advertises beef dishes.
